19 Jan Fun Shelving for Kids!

Who said shelving has to be boring? What child wouldn’t want something a little fun and funky in their room?! Fun shelving can most definitely lend itself to ANY style you’ve got going in your home. A beautiful boat like the first picture in any little boy or girls room would lend itself perfectly in a Hamptons home… painted in a navy blue, white and/or red. Divine! Do you have a child who loves music…. easy, a ‘note’ shelf it is! Wait until you see the cat shelving I designed for a little boy…. awesome!!
If you’re looking for a DIY job one weekend, may I suggest starting easy with something like this… design your own, or have a go at replicating one. Seriously, it’s super easy!!
Here are a few pieces you’ll need to help you out:
- Plywood 12mm (that’s what I stipulated when I had someone make the cat shelving)
- Wood glue
- Hammer
- Nails
- Cutting saw
- Brackets to put it on the wall (I would recommend hanging them as floating shelves)
- Paint
Go on, I know you can! OR… have someone make them for you. I’d be more than happy to design something cool for your child’s room and have a trusty carpenter make and install them. Trust me, you’d be parents of the year! š Bx
